Sales Promotion
This is a trade oriented ad. I think it is eye catching and effectively marketed. I think it will attract many people who feel like they need to do their part to be "green". The ad is appealing to many people and is a great incentive to get a new car by trading in your old one that may not be so good for the environment. I believe whoever came up with this ad was very creative.
This is a trade oriented ad for cash for clunkers. Most of us know what this program is and this ad says it best. I believe that if someone did not know what the program was that this ad would cause them interest in finding out. This ad would be effective in targeting many. It is easy to see and definitely eye-catching.
I believe that this cereal consumer oriented ad as with many is definitely effective. I would prefer as a consumer to buy one get one free or recieve 2 for deals vs. the promotional items that claim you will get 25% more or two free ones in a package. I think that for these reasons it is effective.
This Mothers Day consumer oriented ad for Bath and body works is definitely affective. Bath and Body Works is already a great place to shop for Mothers Day and now when you shop there you can get a free gift for yourself and your Mother. I think that is awesome and i believe that many other people would think this was a great idea as well.
My Final Consumer oriented product is one that i am not sure if is in effect anymore but that I feel was very effective. I'm not sure how many people remember this promotion. My family and I have been using this promotion for years. It was obviously effective seeing how it went on for many many years and might still be for all I know. Great America is definitely a place worth getting deals for.

According to BusinessKnowledgeSource.com billboards are the second most popular form of advertising. The statistics show that almost 95% of people will read billboard messages each year. I think that these two reasons are a big part of why advertising this way has become so popular. I think if a company is not using outdoor advertising that they might be relying too heavily on other forms of advertising and overlooking this one; which is a cost effective way to get sales and attract customers.
Some of the factors that have led to this popularity include low price, constant advertising, and a better bang for the buck. If you think about it outdoor advertising definitely has it's benefits. Your ad will always be on, unlike t.v or radio your billboard could be viewed anytime day and night. Billboards are affordable too, depending on the region they can run from $600-$3,000 a month. Many magazine ads cost at least $1,500 and will not be viewed by as many people. Billboards can also help to create brand recognition and if you put your web address on your billboard people stuck in traffic will be able to remember it easily.
When coming up with a billboard it is important to rememeber to keep it simple. Use font that is easy to read and bright colors that will keep peoples attention.
Overall after doing a little research and thinking from a consumer point of view I can understand why Billboard advertising is both effective and popular. I plan to use it in the future if I start my own business, afterall I don't want to put all my advertising eggs in one basket.

Direct Marketing
I recieved this Direct advertising in the mail this week. As a consumer It did not really capture my attention, actually I think it is rather boring to look at and it doesn't seem to stand out. If anyhthing does stand out to me it is only the loud yellow color on the front. As far as capturing my attention I don't believe it did that either. You almost have to read the whole thing to see what the point of the message is. I think that they should have chosen bright splotches of primary colors and used bolder print that got straight to the point, which is basically that they are able to give you a loan when you need it no matter what job you have or how many hours you work. I will say that it was a good thing to include the fact that they do Moneygram and Visa Pre-Paid cards, it was also good that they included a list of needed items to bring if you need a loan.

Cable network commercials
I rarely watch Cable as I use the internet for most shows to avoid commercials :) However, after watching some major networks and the commercials I do have a little more insight and thought on the matter.
I watched Toy Story on ABC Family with my daughter and was actually a little annoyed. In the time we watched I saw mainly commercials with a pg type of rating...then the commercials started for pretty little liars. I mean really did they need to air it so many times that my child now was asking why a student was having sex with a teacher and Allisons sex life. I understand these are night time shows but at the same time I wonder why they chose to air them during Toy Story when many children were watching. Other than that most of the commercials were for that particular network with only few that are on normal rimetime channels. The commercials did do a good job with creativity and peaking my interest in some of the shows i saw.I also liked that there was not a large amount of time dedicated towards commercials when they did air. But I question who the target audience is as it is so mixed.
We also watched animal planet. They had many different commercials that were targeted towards many different people. It seems as though they had commercials that were ess about the network itself and more about common items most people use such as car insurance, cars, cell phones and beer. The atrget of these ads is pretty diverse. It seems as though many of the commercials on this channel are showed on most primetime everyday networks as I had seen most of them. They did have commercials related to the channels content but not many. The ones about the channels content were creative and caused me to watch animal planet again.
I also watched other networks as well. For the most part I feel as though most networks do a good job with creatively and objectively reaching the main audience that watches that chennel.
